Ron Small currently serves as President and Principal Scientist for Reedy Fork, an environmental consulting, management, and contracting firm started in 2005. Ron earned a B.S. degree from Clemson University and an M.S. degree from Virginia Tech and has previously been employed by the City of Greensboro Stormwater Management Division, NC Wildlife Resources Commission, and US Fish and Wildlife Service.
During his career, Ron has provided technical assistance and consulting advice to pond, lake, and landscape owners. He has performed several hundred inspections of stormwater BMPs, including detention ponds, bioretention cells (rain gardens), sand filters, and proprietary devices, and has managed multiple maintenance, construction, and landscape installation projects. He is currently an NCSU-Certified Stormwater BMP Inspection and Maintenance Professional and NCDOT-Certified Erosion and Sediment Control/Stormwater Professional.
Ron is actively involved in the local community, recently holding a position on Guilford County’s Environmental Review Board, acting as the Environmental Affairs Coordinator for the Sunset Hills Neighborhood, and participating in the Adopt-a-Stream program and Greensboro Beautiful activities.
