  • Provided final grading, excavation, and construction of new stormwater detention pond.  Installed bentonite liner in pond as proactive step to meet permeability limits.  Installed proper erosion control measures.  Designed and installed aquatic shelf plantings.

  • Renovated existing stormwater biocell at Rural Hall Elementary School.  Provided complete vegetation maintenance, planted 1,600 native grass and perennial flower plugs, constructed access steps, and installed appropriate erosion control measures.

Detention Pond Investigation and Repair

  • Investigated, identified, and reported on the source of leaking from the riser/barrel and concrete footing structure of the stormwater detention pond. Developed options and cost estimates for repair. Completed cost-effective exploratory repair to prevent leaking using a combination of bentonite, hydraulic cement, and concrete patching.

  • Teamed with J.L. Sharp Construction to complete a block retaining wall, re-grade slopes and swales, correct drainage issues, and install appropriate sediment and erosion control measures.  Utilized permanent turf reinforcement matting, temporary erosion control matting, and straw wattles to stabilize the disturbed areas, slopes, and swales.

Investigation and Report of Detention Pond Volume and Sediment Accumulation

  • Collected current depth measurements along multiple transects in a 2.5-acre stormwater detention pond.  Investigated and calculated the existing pond volume, storage capacity, and amount of sediment accumulation.  Provided a report, supporting documentation, and a signed/sealed certification from a professional engineer to the property management firm, HOA Board, and City of High Point.

  • Providing lake and dam inspection services, consulting, routine maintenance, and general management of this 13-acre residential lake.  Coordinating with the HOA to develop long-term goals and address management options for the lake – recreation, aquatic vegetation, fish, sediment, nuisance wildlife, trash and debris, etc.

Earthen Dam Replacement and Pond Upgrades

  • Replaced leaking, poorly-maintained earthen dam for a 1.5-acre irrigation pond.  Installed a stable, rip-rap inlet channel and emergency spillway.  Re-graded pond perimeter and stabilized disturbed areas.
